More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesNEED: Unemployment among men/women is growing every day. Women can both weave for income & tend to their families while sitting at home. Weaving is a tool in which they can achieve pride, dignity & financial independence. Weaving is already present among our women, but they have been unable to use it for commercial purposes. BENEFICIARIES: Rural women that belong to different tribes such as the KARBI TRIBE, BODO TRIBE, LALUNG TRIBE AND THE MISHINGS TRIBE. ActivitiesForm weaving groups & identify a female leader who can take the lead in keeping the group active & motivated for enhanced & sustained production. Group leader serves as link between village members & org.; Workshops on livelihood & gender rights. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
