Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Practices in the birth house will:(1)Provide a new option for giving birth in Czech Rep.Influence practices in the hospitál (humanizing the birth process) (2)Prevent birth complications caused by inappropriate use of technology (3)Strengthen women‘s itrust in own ability to give birth(4)Through public education about normal natural birth, support the possibility of informed choice (5)Strenghten the democratic process through all methods mentioned above

Activities

Courses on management and safety for out-of-hospital birth (missing at midwifery & medical schools) and prenatal classes for expecting parents and grand parents; create a home-like setting for birthing mothers; create a model of midwifery care

I started the birth house project as a pilot project to develop a new option for birthing women. It provides an informed choice for birthing & strenghtens women's position in society.
