Mission

SAWATA Dodoma aims to strengthen its own organization and management capacity to enable it to coordinate the efforts being undertaken by society at large, local authorities and other institutions, towards the improvement of the well being of elders in Tanzanian society.

Programs

SAWATA Dodoma's other work includes providing support to and implementing an older people's clinic, vegetable gardening activities, paralegal training and counselling of widows, saving and credit schemes, mobilizing charitable contributions for vulnerable older people, and advocacy skills training for older people, as well as monitoring the impact of national policies on civil society.

Personnel Overview

Sebastian Bulegi - Chairperson
Born in 1940, Sebastian is the current chairperson for SAWATA Dodoma and works voluntarily on a part time basis. Before retirement Sebastian worked as a District Government Administrator. Now, when not furthering the work of SWATA Dodoma, he is involved with pastoral work.

Henry Isike - Liaison Officer
Henry is the Liaison Officer for SAWATA Dodoma. During his working life he was government photographer. Since his retirement, he has continues to be involved in photography work both for SAWATA and his own enjoyment.
