More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
More than half of the people in the three countries are living at subsistence level, earning $1 a day or less. Alternative income strategies are needed as it is becoming increasingly difficult to survive on farming due to periodic drought and there are few job opportunities, especially for women. Although all three countries are known for diverse wildlife and game parks, tourism benefits only a small percentage of the overall population in selected areas.
Activities
Train communities in product pricing and develop products with market appeal; build capacity of youth as intermediaries in information communication technologies; 3) strengthen existing facilities to implement an e-commerce system.
