More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesRural unemployment caused by technological progress in the agricultural sector forces unskilled families to migrate to larger urban centers causing urban homelessness and poverty. Many pursue criminal activities, abandon their children and fall prey to substance abuse. NPOs are mainly located in urban centers and address the symptoms of socio-economic problems, rather than the root cause. The MPDRU is designed to assist community initiatives in rural areas addressing socio-economic challenges. Activitiescreative use of under-utilized resources and private/public sector partnerships; of IT, innovative resource mobilization, proactive approaches to socioeconomic/environmental challenges.
