This woman, living in a urban slum in South East India, outside of Truichipalli, shows off her new water connection, which she obtained through a WaterCredit loan. A water connection was installed from the community water source, shared by hundreds of families, and now flows directly to her home. She sits near the tank which holds the water brought to her home through the new connection.
Self Help Group Meeting
This rural Indian self help group meets regularly to stay on-top of community isses, particularly related to water and sanitation. Their community has been declared 100% defication free. Their next project after obtaining loans for clean water and sanitation is to organize daily a garbage collecting, as this is a severe sanitation problem in rural communities.
