More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

While there have been strides to impose stronger national security in Colombia, there still remains a large threat from those groups that wreak violence through the streets of Columbia. Thousands of families have been displaced; 55% of them women and girls. Through the loss of so many men due to violence, women are forced to become the primary source of household income. Women for Women International will teach necessary vocational skills for these women to earn a sufficient income.

Activities

Women will receive skills leading to income-generating projects based on education initiatives and vocational skills trainings. New projects include plastic bag production, fruit pulp production, a community drug store and an employment cooperative.
