Going for Gold!

By Kaylena Bray - Project Manager, February 29, 2008 05:05 PM

The Under-19 Iroquois Nationals team has made great progress over the past four months. In Alexandria Virginia, the team captured the Elite High School Division crown at the inaugural Madlax Capital Classic lacrosse tournament, on November 25th. The Nationals swept all five games they played in at the tournament by an average of ten goals!

Back on December 16th, the Nationals completed the winter portion of the team’s preparation for the 2008 Under-19 World Lacrosse Championships by beating both the Rochester Blaze and Ontario Edge in scrimmages. Head Coach Tony Gray gave positive feedback on the team’s progress saying, “The team has come together nicely during the first part of our preparations. I can’t wait to get back at it during the spring.”

In more recent news, The Iroquois Nationals announced the final roster for the team’s entry in the 2008 World Under-19 Lacrosse Championships, listing available on the Iroquois Nationals website. 23 young men will compete for the gold on July 3rd- July 12th, 2008 in Coquitlam.

The Iroquois Nationals brochure has also been completed in an effort to support fundraising initiatives.
