More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

South Sudan came to global attention with the Lost Boys – groups of children forced to travel vast distances without food, water, or protection during the longest war in Africa. Twenty-one yrs of war left the Maban people without health facilities or lifesaving services. The nearest hospital is an 8 hour drive— several days walk for people who only have foot transportation. When there is no access to basic health care the result is a cycle of disease and death for the most vulnerable.

Activities

RI supports the first post-war village clinic in Maban. RI provides the clinic with supplies to treat common and preventable life threatening diseases. RI is also focused on training local medical staff to deliver preventative and curative services.
