More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
South Sudan came to global attention with the Lost Boys groups of children forced to travel vast distances without food, water, or protection during the longest war in Africa. 21 years of war decimated the landscape. In 2005, as Southerners returned to their villages to rebuild, they found that they had no access at all to clean drinking water, resulting in intestinal illnesses and other infections that can mean death for a small child.
Activities
RI supports the construction of new water points to spread lifesaving value of potable water across the county. Construction of latrines and hand washing stations, are also supported by RI to ensure families have the resources needed to be healthy.
