Share & SaveMore Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThe health status of people in S. Sudan is among the worst in the world. BRAC will address the severe shortage of skilled health workers by mobilizing 30 community health promoters (CHP). Each CHP will ensure that 1,000 of the poorest individuals have access to health services & medicines. The CHP will educate mothers to act on critical health matters such as child health, family planning, water and sanitation, pregnancy, and life-threatening infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria and TB. Activities1) 30 CHPs selected from local BRAC microfinance village organizations 2) CHPs trained to treat common illnesses & control malaria, TB & HIV/AIDS 3) Each CHP will visit 12 households/day & care for a total of 1000 people 4) CHPs monitored & evaluated Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $400 Additional DocumentationThis project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
