Homeless World Cup Foundation
Mission
There are one billion homeless people in our world today. The Homeless World Cup exists to end this so we all have a home, a basic human need. We do this by creating a world-class, annual, international football tournament and changing lives by supporting grassroots football projects working with homeless and socially excluded people all year round. 77% of players change their lives for the better. We aim to involve 100,000 players a year in pre-tournament training and trials by 2010.
Programs
Investment to create national tournament trials to select the national team benefiting up to 1000 players per nation who are currently homeless and excluded. Investment to create national street leagues to enable grassroots projects to work all year with homeless and excluded people. Travel bursaries to enable debut nations to attend the Homeless World Cup to secure exposure, funding and resources to become a sustainable national project.
