SEED
Mission
SEED is facilitating a teacher and school-driven movement which builds outdoor learning environments through Permaculture. This is linked to the integration of Environmental Education (EE) into all learning areas , in line with Outcomes Based Education and is supported by SEED’s learning materials. Furthermore, SEED strives to develop a pool of skilled Permaculture facilitators with experience in school-based Permaculture.

Personnel Overview
Leigh Brown - Co-founder & director
Leigh Brown has a degree in Journalism from Rhodes University and worked in the world of publishing for four years before heading over to Australia to study Permaculture at the Permaculture Research Institute. Leigh came back to South Africa in 2000 and breathed life into SEED giving new direction in teacher development and support.
Talfryn Harris - Operations Manager
Talfryn Harris discovered Permaculture in 1990. He completed a degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Witwatersrand. After a stint as a science teacher at a high school he worked on essential oil production. Talfryn spent 3 years with the Medicinal and Edible Gardens Association and has been working as SEED's Operations Manager since 2006.
