More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

In Brazil millions of young people are not working or studying. 57% of Brazilian youth believe they can change the world, but only 22% of them actually do some social work in their neighborhood or community. 85% of Brazilian youth do not have any type of direct participation in their community. Youth is seen as vulnerable, dangerous and frequently is a subject of repression. YV supports young people to generate solutions to social problems, by helping them lead and launch their own venture.

Activities

YV supports youth by helping them address social issues in their communities. Youth form teams and create sustainable action plans that must be approved by a panel. Then, they receive seed money and technical support to start their Venture Team.

Why this Project is Important

Potential Long Term Impact

YV is dramatically increasing the proportion of changemakers in the world by effectively reaching youth and providing them the opportunity to see their own potential, develop skills, creating an 'everyone a changemaker world'.

Project Message

“The critical factor for success of any human grouping - be it a company or a country - will be the proportion of changemakers it has to develop new ideas, take initiative and lead.”
- Bill Drayton, Founder and CEO of Ashoka and Youth Venture
