Provide 500 Women Globally with Abuse Support Photo Gallery

Help American women abused overseas

American women abused in foreign countries are often isolated, don't speak the native language, have limited or no access to resources and are subject to systemic abuse. Abusers often hide the childrens' American passports so she is unable to leave the country. American embassies cannot, in most cases, issue passports for minor American children without the approval of both parents. This policy is a huge obstacle to overcome.

Empowerment based philosophy

Advocates work with callers to empower them to make decisions about the abuse in their lives and in the lives of their children. Each situation is uniquely different and advocates assist in determining which barriers are tangible and which barriers are perceived to determine the best possible outcome for the family.

Multi-service organization

From domestic violence advocacy, case management and safety planning, to danger to safety relocation, (airline flights) to assistance with legal issues and payment of legal retainers, to counseling, to a one-year self-sufficiency transitional housing program for mothers and their children who have been forced to flee abuse trans-nationally back to the USA who have no where else to go, we offer the resources necessary for families to establish their lives free of abuse.

Child abuse prevention and intervention

The American Domestic Violence Crisis Line envisions a life where every woman's intimate partner treats her with dignity, respect & compassion; where oppression is replaced with equality; where expression of anger is non-violent and where children grow up in violent-free homes with their self-esteem intact.
