Mission

blueEnergy is a nonprofit organization that provides a low-cost, sustainable solution to the energy needs of marginalized communities through the construction, installation, and maintenance of hybrid wind and solar electric systems. blueEnergy manufactures wind turbines and other key components locally to keep energy costs low, improve equipment serviceability, and create employment where it is desperately needed.

Programs

blueEnergy manufactures, installs, and maintains hybrid wind/solar energy systems. blueEnergy manufactures its wind turbines from scratch in Bluefields, Nicaragua, and works with communities on the Caribbean Coast to bring electricity to remote areas. blueEnergy also trains community operators for the energy systems. Once this model is fully refined, blueEnergy will expand to other regions of Nicaragua, Central America, and globally.
