Actions
Share & SaveMore Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesOasis activities and mentoring opportunities help girls face their many struggles, including: • Constant sexual harassment in the community; • Many immigrant families do not allow their daughters to attend coeducational programs. Because Oasis is a girls-only program, it offers a unique resource; • As a “gang-neutral” site, Oasis represents an important alternative to gang life, building girls' cross-ethnic alliances and appreciation. Activities1) We use arts activities to channel girls' positive and negative energies. 2) We conduct icebreakers and team-building exercises, resulting in improved interpersonal skills and communication. 3) Our workshops help girls develop positive self-image Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $630 Additional DocumentationThis project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
