This is what the community will look like once the families have built their houses. The project will also provide health and social services for the families, school for the children and a church. Displaced families will find a safe environment for their children to grow in and a community they can belong to.

Self construction in Villas de San Pablo
The project has a staff of specialized engineers, constructors and architects to give advice to families building their houses through self construction and to guarantee safety conditions and safe structures in the area.
Construction Workshop Villas de San Pablo
Given that all the families who will belong to this community come from different backgrounds and lack a specific profession and a superior education, the project provides them with training and advice on how to build their house. They attend different construction workshops and build their houses with the supervision of project managers.
First Families to live in Villas de San Pablo
These are the first families who are moving to Villas de San Pablo. Most used to live in urban slums in the city of Barranquilla, others came from the plains suffering from forced displacement and persecution by the guerrillas or paramilitaries.
Bakery Training in Villas de San Pablo
Given that the ultimate long term goal of this project is to create a self supplying, sustainable community were beneficiaries can become agents of their own development, beneficiaries receive entrepreneurship training in different occupations and services demanded by the community.
Skills training in Villas de San Pablo
In this picture different beneficiaries are receiving skills training to serve the community. Some are learning to be carpenters to provide services to other families building their houses, others are learning to be electricians.
