More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
In rural Honduras, near Nueva Esperanza, many communities lack access to affordable clean water, a reliable source of electricity, the internet and computers. The lack of technologies required to solve these problems contributes to much greater issues involving waterborne illness and disease, hunger, and barriers to economic development. This school will provide community leaders with the knowledge and skills they require to solve these technological problems themselves.
Activities
The assessment will gather local community leaders for discussion on technological problems and need for training.
The school will provide hands-on seminars on how to design water, energy, and internet soltutions specific to each community's need.

Why this Project is Important
Potential Long Term Impact
The school will be a self-sustaining micro-business creating teaching jobs for past students while continuing to enable communities to develop their own technological solutions for their most pressing health and economic problems.
Project Message
I have seen the ingenuity, intellect and drive of problem solvers in this area of rural Honduras. The problems they face are best identified and solved by those who know them best: local peoples.
