Mission

The Global Network for Environment and Economic Development Research is involved in cutting-edge research, policy advocacy and implementation of environment and sustainable development projects to alleviate identified social, economic, environment and development challenges in developing economies. The organization has grown to become a frontline citizen sector organisation in Africa.

Programs

We have research and project departments. Besides our research products, Some of our ongoing pilot and scaled up projects include: (i) Cows to Kilowatts: Nigerian Abattoir Waste Pollution Centre turned into Profit Centre using Biogas Technology. (iii) Power to the Poor: Off-grid Lighting from Cassava Waste in Nigeria (v) Your Trash, My Treasure? Safe Sanitation and Clean Energy from Hybrid AFF-UASB Bioreactor for Schools in Nigeria

Personnel Overview

Dr. Joseph Adelegan, PhD, MNSE - Project Director
Dr. Joseph Adelegan, a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer is an Ashoka Fellow; an Inventor-Entrepreneur supported by US based Lemelson Foundation, a Salzburg Fellow, a Royal Government of the Netherlands Scholar, 2006 Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, Geneva, Switzerland. He has two decade of engineering consulting experience on renewable energy, water and sanitation projects.

Professor Pawinee Chaiprasert - Deputy Project Director
Pawinee Chaiprasert is a Biotechnologist and Director of the Biogas Technology Research Centre, King Mongkuk’s University of Technology,Thonburi, Thailand. She is also a Professor in the School of Bioresources and Technology. Her fields of specialisation are biological wastewater treatment and waste utilisation. She has published and presented several research papers at international conferences.

Dr. Annop Nopharatana - Assistant Project Director
Dr. Annop Nopharatana is a Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, King Mongkuk’s University of Technology,Thonburi, Thailand. He is also the Deputy Director of the Biogas Technology Research Centre, King Mongkuk’s University of Technology,Thonburi, Thailand. His area of expertise include renewable energy, biogas, wastewater treatment, water re-use and industrial processes
