Share & SaveMore Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesLast year, 710 IDP families living in settlements in greater Khartoum received supplemental food aid for "iftar" meals during the month of Ramadan. Special attention is given to nourishing the most vulnerable groups, including widows, elderly & orphans. Due to the effects of the global food crisis, this year's need is greater than ever. ActivitiesIn cooperation with local Zakat (alms) committees, NEF identifies the most needy residents and distributes food packages accordingly. Each package contains about $28 worth of basic staples, including rice, beans, wheat, dates, tea, and cooking oil.
