More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
The Bo Peace Carnival attracts residents from the whole community, but particularly targets the youth population. Most youth fought in Sierra Leones 10-year war and still retain the behavior and culture of violence and aggression associated with the war. Communities are struggling to reintegrate ex-combatants, and they are striving to find a positive role in society. Youth must learn to express their views non-violently, and their communities must learn to engage the youths participation.
Activities
This project will organize the Bo Peace Carnival organized by a committee comprised of community representatives from youth associations, the Police, the Army, and other groups, helping these key actors learn to work together towards a common goal.
