Alternative school for railway platform children
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThis project will affect around 400 marginalized children living on and around the railway station who have no access to school. The barriers to education for such children arise both from the external environment and from the children's own unique predicament of deprivation. These children are not merely out of school; the very concept of education is unknown to them. ActivitiesTo set up an extensive network of schools, vocational training programs, shelters, non-formal education centers, a crisis help-line, and scholarships with the aim to assist children in claiming their right to education. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $4,472 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available. Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled $4,472. The original project funding goal was $5,500.
