In-Row Tillage
Sustainable agriculture is one of the main focuses of World Neighbors when entering a new program area. These farmers in Indonesia are benefitting from the education they have received from our staff members. By applying in-row tillage to this field, the beds are raised which decreases water run-off and increases total yield.
Women in Decision Making
In most of the World Neighbors program areas, women have had a very limited voice within their community and little or no decision making authority. Through gender workshops and an emphasis on community development, these women are now allowed to participate in needs assessments and group decision making.
Cooperative Learning
Cooperative learning is the basis of all World Neighbors work. Program participants identify their own needs and participate in their own assessments. Yearly planning and goal setting are community activities that all individuals are invited to participate in and evaluate.
