Mission
Our mission is to protect the health of people living in the Russian Far East. We act to prevent health dangers primarily by improving environmental and social conditions in the region, and protecting the environment of the Russian Far East. Our primary activity is to address regional health issues by promoting sound, science-based, political decisions. We are inclined to cooperate internationally and bring technical resources to solve regional environmental health problems.
Programs
Aside from the prevention of lead poisoning, the main programs of the Far Eastern Health Fund raise public environmental awareness and promote ecotourism & recreation. These programs are intended to improve public health through education, promoting healthy lifestyles, and teaching people how to care for their environment.
Personnel Overview
Petr Sharov - President
Born in Artem, Primorskii Krai, Russia, Mr. Sharov has an M.S. in Ecology and an M.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Idaho. He has traveled around former Soviet Union and the world and participated in a number of environmental projects, including lead poisoning prevention programs. Mr. Sharov is currently the President of FEHF, as elected by the Founders Council.
Denis Litvinov - Vice-President
Born in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Litvinov lived and grew up in Moldavia, Moscow, and the north of Russian Far East. He obtained a M.S. degree in Ecology and a Law Degree (Vladivostok, Primorskii Krai, Russia). Mr. Litvinov has participated in a number of national and international environmental projects. In the organization he oversees matters of fundraising, projects coordination, and legal issues.
