More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Many poor families have yet to realize the benefit of sending their children to school. Poverty often requires that children stay at home to help the family earn an income. They are reluctant, or unable, to pay school fees or purchase the necessary education materials. CDS hopes to start five pre-school centers this year and then motivate parents to send their children to pre-school in order to instill the value of education in them as a long-term means to break out of poverty.

Activities

CDS will select 100 children to be sent to pre-school where they will begin to learn the basics in reading, writing and math. They children will also be provided with a healthy lunch and snacks.

Why this Project is Important

Potential Long Term Impact

Poverty often requires children to help earn an income. Parents are unable, to pay school fees or buy education materials. By attending pre-school to learn math and writing skills, children start to break the cycle of poverty.

Project Message

Learning to read, write and compute basic math is critical to ending the cycle of poverty. Educating children will change forever the future of these families.
