Mission

We strive to improve the standard of living of poorest women living in rural Honduras. We are currently achieving this goal with over 2,200 women by providing them with small loans, savings programs, and business and life skill education classes. We also seek to empower women by offering them leadership opportunities in the group meetings and by provide leadership training to the elected leaders of the groups.

Programs

Adelante administers a micro-credit loan program to poor Honduran women. The women use the loans to start and develop their own small businesses. Initial loans start at $27, but over time increase to over $1,000 as the woman’s business grows. Equally important, every two weeks Adelante provides classes in business, health and nutrition so the women can learn how to succeed in business and improve the quality of their lives. All of Adelante’s staff and offices are located in Honduras.
