Radio education for South African AIDs orphans
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesAIDS orphans aged 9 and younger head households and support siblings alone in South African townships and rural communities. Radio information and education prevent the spread of AIDS and enable vulnerable children to survive. Lifeline self-powered radios need no batteries. They provide constant companionship and vital advice no longer available from parents. Radios also extend the reach and capacity of local NGO staff and community care givers to support thousands of destitute children ActivitiesFreeplay Foundation partners with numerous NGOs to develop radio projects for AIDS orphans. We provide Lifeline radios, give structured training in radio distribution and support project monitoring. Many thousand orphans receive practical aid Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $2,314 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available. Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled $2,314. The original project funding goal was $22,000.
