Mission

PlanetRead is a not for profit organization with the simple vision of a reading planet – a planet where everyone can read and has access to interesting and affordable reading opportunities in native and other language(s). We contribute to literacy worldwide by innovating and implementing simple, scalable, and cost-effective solutions, especially using mass media and information technologies.

Programs

SLS programs are now enjoyed in 10 regional languages nationwide. India’s national TV broadcaster Doordarshan has seen a 15% ratings increase on programs with SLS. We won a business plan competition at Stanford University and set up www.BookBox.com for children. SLS integrated animated stories help improve their reading skills. -PlanetRead hopes to sustain its work by becoming self reliant and has launched www.Desilassi.com targeting millions of NRI who are fond of learning Indian languages.

Personnel Overview

Nirav Shah - Chief Operating Officer
Nirav has headed the organization right from its inception. Moreover, he was the project coordinator for the Same Language Subtitling (SLS) project which led to the formation of PlanetRead.

Parthibhan Amudhan - Manager - Quality Assurance
His role is to ensure the quality of our products and services by having effective production/work systems. He also oversees the operations for smooth functioning of office administration and personnel management.
