More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
As a result of war, landmines, birth defects and disease the number of people living with amputation and limb deficiency increases daily. Using conventional, short duration socket based technology, help for millions of these individuals will never be possible. Through the use of our ingenious Socketless Prosthetic technology it is possible to provide long term assistance at a fraction of the cost. In addition to amputees, this is the only technology that can help those with Leprosy.
Activities
Through this global project we will develop a high function, low cost hook that will not fail under the rigorous conditions found in most post-conflict countries.

Why this Project is Important
Potential Long Term Impact
This basic hook will be designed to accommodate future interchangeable parts to address specific needs of people. In addition to fitting our Socketless limbs, these will be universally adaptable for conventional North American or European limbs.
Project Message
The ability to make a positive impact on anothers life is a gift. Through sound socketless prosthetic technology, we can replace functional self-care that was taken away at the time of amputation.
- Dr. Chaz Holder, 1947 - 2002, Developer of alternate prosthetic technologies
