Mission

Acumen Fund is a global non-profit venture fund serving the 4 billion people living on less than $4 a day. Our aim is to create a blueprint for building financially sustainable and scalable organizations that bring affordable, critical goods and services to the poor in order to elevate their lives. We adhere to a disciplined process in selecting and managing our philanthropic investments as well as in measuring the end result.

Anuj Shah - CEO, A to Z bednets
Anuj Shah is the CEO of A to Z, the largest privately held manufacturer of bednets in Africa. A to Z employs approximately 600 workers and currently produces 5 million bednets annually for distribution in Tanzania and other African countries. A to Z is also the lowest cost manufacturer in Africa due to an intense focus on innovation and productivity.

Rustom Masalawala - Health Analyst
Mr. Masalawala worked for Unisys, AT&T, NEC, Panasonic and NetPilgrim. He was also actively involved in the early conceptualization of a social development organization based in the South East Asia region. He received his MS in Computer Science from the State University of New York, as well as his BS in Physics/Mathematics and a Diploma in Business Administration from Xavier's College in India.
