Mission

Our mission requires the generation on a large scale of alternate sources of fast growing trees for charcoal and firewood. Our goal is to stop the destruction of the forests of Kenya for charcoal, and start restoring the national forest cover through these missions and vital interventions, building capacity with rural people for reforestation and the conservation of their forests and environment.

Programs

Following on from two project areas in the Aberdares the trust has set up a base in the Lake Magadi region and the coast province of Kenya.Biofuels crops are being added to our programs to further boost our rural communities wealth creating potential.

Personnel Overview

Adam Tuller - Chief Executive Officer
Founder of the Africa Conservation Trust, working with fast growing nitrogen fixing trees for many years & experienced in project design and management in many fields. Work experience includes successful corporate turn around work with Pricewaterhouse Coopers with their receivership department. Interested to raise Kenya’s forest cover from its current level of 1.7% to 12 %. Kenyan by birth.

David Muniu Riunge - Community relations and capacity building officer
Kenyan by birth,40 years old. Experienced and highly accredited Nation newspaper journalist Long-term experience with rural communities Has been successfully managing community relations in the Aberdares for the trust since September 2003 and is leading the capacity building team with youth and women’s groups in this area.

Stuart Kemp - IT and logistics
Born in Southern Africa with great IT qualifications and field experience, Stuart has been invaluable in the successful operations and expansion of the trust
