Schools for Change, reducing school desertion
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesParents living in poor conditions consider that, starting from a certain age, their children are capable of working at jobs that generate additional income for the family. Also the impact of repeating grades is a factors that drive students to abandonment. For low-income families, the economic cost of a child repeating a grade is nearly impossible to bear. 30% of children from low-income families have significant difficulties to continuing primary school and 50% at the secondary level. ActivitiesDuring capacity-building working meetings, the school members share and exchange opinions and ideas about school desertion and elaborate an action plan to implement during 9 months.
