More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and Beneficiaries5.5 mln people in Poland have some kind of disability (1/7 of society). Most of them stay at homes all their lives without the possibility of independence. We work with them for equal opportunity in society and self-respect. We provide necessary information, knowledge and skills to live and work in an open society: going to the neighborhood school, working in jobs that are in line with their education and abilities and starting families on they own. ActivitiesProviding information to more than 8000 people per year via telephone, internet, in person, website (www.niepelnosprawni.info), leading courses, publishing information publication, preparing social campaigns (in radio, TV, newspapers), etc. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations. ResourcesWhy this Project is ImportantPotential Long Term ImpactDisabled people elicitation and building wide tolerance: 5% decrease of level of unemployment in 3 years time; increase amount of clients to 20 000 per year, 30% increase of level of tolerance to disable people in polish society.
