Citizenship on Delivery
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesIn Brazil, a country notorious for social exclusion, persons with disabilities are at the bottom of society, receiving scant attention from state or private concerns and unaware of their rights. The IBDD has a legal office providing free advice and helping those with disabilities in their struggle. However, Rio de Janeiro’s transport system is notoriously deficient; this is all the more so for poor people with disabilities in the periphery, which prevents many of the neediest from reaching us. ActivitiesIn an ethanol-powered van, a miniature legal office would be set up, staffed by a legal and social counseling team. This van would set up shop in different peripheral communities within the Greater Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area.
