Empower Rural Women through Capacity Development
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesMany of the 600 communities dispersed throughout the Sierra Gorda are extremely poor. The most affected group is women due to the high rate of male migration & lack of productive alternatives. The perception and treatment of women in many rural communities in Mexico also contributes to the problem. The empowerment of rural women project provides the necessary tools to overcome this barrier. Currently, 27 communities are participating in the program, with an average of 20 women in each. ActivitiesThe program provides the tools needed for women to create healthier lives for themselves, their families, & the environment, while slowly improving their economic situation & lifestyle. They carry out activities to develop their capacities. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
