My Badge, My Humanity: America's Police Families
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesPolice families suffer from significantly higher rates of domestic violence and suicide than the general public. The enduring standards of practice within this essentially closed culture create formidable barriers to help-seeking for officers and family members. The necessary systemic change must come from within police organizations, but must also be supported by a public that understands and accepts the paramount importance of the emotional health of its police. Awareness is key. ActivitiesThe priorities are to produce Public Service Announcements with the help of Court TV; a web site to serve as a resource to individuals and agencies; and print materials to market our organizations availability for expert training and consulting.
