Mission

The mission is to promote optimum health and safety for police families with the primary goals of preventing officer involved domestic violence and suicide, as well as improving the quality of life of every police family. Believing the life threatening issues within police families are symptoms of a larger cultural problem within the profession that views an officer’s badge as a replacement for his/her humanity, the mission is to adjust that lens so the focus is on preserving humanity instead.

Programs

The organization is working with police agencies to develop new proactive, preventative policies; provide training to employees and family members; and upgrade mental health services delivery while also training clinicians with regard to the special skill set required to effectively intervene with law enforcement families. The organization is also coordinating the effort to provoke change in academy curriculums and supervisory continued education, to maximize the spread of this new approach.
