Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Guaraqueçaba, where the Cachoeira Environmental Educational center is located, hosts one of the greatest & best preserved areas of the Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil. 314,000 hectares large, it is considered a "special area" for environmental conservation, containing a significant natural patrimony with high biological diversity. Thus, it is necessary to develop educational programs that contribute in the conciliation between economical development & environmental conservation.

Activities

Consolidation of the Environmental Education Center through: construction of a 35-person lodging, administration of 12 courses and 6 workshops (within a year) for the local communities on themes that about the environment.

Potential Long Term Impact

Promote the union of communities among themselves and with nature in their own environment, through experiences done with direct contact with nature. It is estimated that, through these actions, 8,040 people will be involved
