More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThe project addresses the need for integrated financial education to empower poor women. Women constitute 67% of Mexico’s informal economy. Out of this total, only 8% have access to credit and only 2% have access to financial education to use credit efficiently. The project beneficiaries are indigenous Otomí women in Temoaya, rural Mexico. Men migrate out of Temoaya for long periods of time in seach of work, thereby placing the burden of household and finances on women. ActivitiesProduce educational manual for credit promoter. Impart workshops using existing didactic material on finance, commercialization, innovative marketing and leadership to train leaders of each savings/credit group. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $36 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available.
