Coffins for life: From poverty to entrepreneurs
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThe primary beneficiaries will be unemployed young people who live in Aguablanca, the poorest and most marginalized district of Cali, Colombia. In Aguablanca, the youth unemployment rate is 43%, and due to its lack of employment opportunities, poverty, and desperation, it can be a breeding ground for illegal activities. Without opportunities to earn a living legally, the spiral of violence will continue and spoil the plans of a successful future for young people in Cali. ActivitiesSince coffin manufacture is highly intensive in manual labor, combined with a high demand for affordable coffins made from recycled wood, it is an excellent market opportunity.
