More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThe west coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, the closest inhabited area to the epicenter of the earthquake, was devastated by the tsunami. More than 70% of the inhabitants of some coastal villages are reported to have died. Heavy rains after the tsunami in Aceh, northern Sumatra, have increased the risk of cholera and other waterborne diseases. ActivitiesThis fund will support general disaster relief activities including medical care, shelter for those displaced after the tsunami, food, and clothing for survivors. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $1,501 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available. Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled $1,501. The original project funding goal was $100,000.
