Create 24 Refugee Centers in Sri Lanka
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThis project aims to create 24 refugee center in the Galle area to provide relief services and rehabilitation for the affected 5000 families, including establishing living conditions and providing basic living requirements. In the southern city of Galle, Sri Lanka's second largest, nearly all homes within about a half mile of the coast were destroyed or damaged. The city is short of food, and the homeless crowded into churches, mosques, and Temples. ActivitiesSupply food and water to the 5000 families who lost their homes and other property. Provide much needed medical facilities. Provide security and basic human needs. Develop short and long-term plans for residential problems. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $7,500 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available.
