More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesIndia is one of the most prone countries to experience disasters, both man-made and natural, however, it lacks centralized disaster mitigation efforts. Moreover, schemes to deal with disasters are often not productive and do not take local perspectives into account. DMI is helping the poor in disaster-prone areas to create secure mechanisms and institutions as part of a comprehensive approach to disaster preparedness and quick recovery. ActivitiesDMI promotes community-based, people-centric disaster risk mitigation, bottom up, and reduce short-term dependence on the so-called relief measures. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $425 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available. Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled $425. The original project funding goal was $25,000.
