Mission

1. To strengthen and expand the coordination of NGOs, people’s organizations and other group’s networks. 2. To disseminate information on environment and sustainable natural resource management to the public. 3. To strengthen the cooperation among various groups: the public, academic institutions, government, private businesses, and other partnerships including cooperation among Thai and international NGOs.

Personnel Overview

Ms. Ravadee Prasertchareonsuk - SDF Director
Ms. Prasertcharoensuk is one of Thailand’s most prominent environmental activists. In addition to her SDF work, she is also the president of NGO Coordinating Committee on Development, a national network of over 300 Thai grassroots organizations. She has solid development work experience and a proven ability to mobilize communities to demand government accountability and their own participation.

Mr. Banjong Nasae - Director, Coastal Mgmt Project
Mr. Nasae is a prominent activist who has worked with the small-scale fisherfolk, both in Andaman and Gulf of Thailand through the Federation of Southern Fisherfolk. His experience of over 20 years involves mobilizing communities and advocating policies against the use of illegal fishing gear and demanding the rights of communities to participate in coastal resource management.

Mr. Parkpoom Witantiratiwat - Project Coordinator
Mr. Witantiratiwat's 10 years of experience with law and policy has increased the capacity of communities to analyze coastal resource degradation. He has mobilized community advocacy for reform of the Fishery Act to address small-scale fisherfolk's problems. He and the Federation are part of the National Economic and Social Advisory Council's drafting committee for a new Fishery Act.
