Mission
The Kenya AIDS Vaccine Initiative is a collaboration between the Nairobi University, the Medical Research Council in Oxford, and the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI). KAVI's mission is to contribute to a world without AIDS by developing a safe, effective, and affordable preventive HIV vaccine in collaboration with its partners.

Dr. Job Bwayo, Principal Investigator - Principal Investigator
Dr. Bwayo is team leader for Kenya AIDS Vaccine Initiative and a lecturer in Immunology at the University of Nairobi and a former Chairman in the Department of Medical Microbiology, College of Health Sciences. He is a Co-director to Regional AIDS Training Network. Dr Bwayo is a senior member of World Health Organization Collaborative Centre for STD/HIV Research Training.
