Project Needs and Beneficiaries
VillageTech Solutions designs rugged lighting systems for rural homes. Families may get their own small solar panel or share power from a central village utility. In Nepal VillageSolutions, an all-Nepalese organization trained by VillageTech, produces and installs this equipment. An entire home system costs about $65. This is a modest investment, but beyond the budget of many rural families. Donated funds offset part of the cost, bringing light, news, music and hope to families in darkness.
Activities
VillageSolutions makes the Village Sun Light. See attached brochure. When seventeen Sun Lights appeared in one community another 3,400 households asked for the same! VillageTech will license the Sun Light to quality manufacturers in other markets.

Potential Long Term Impact
VillageSolutions’ system pioneers a very low wattage, modular, expandable power system for individual homes. LED lighting enables productive work, extended study hours, and home safety. Many low wattage applications are coming.
