More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

The World Food Program estimates that 68% of northern Uganda’s population is food insecure due to years of conflict, deep poverty, flooding, and drought. Approximately two million people were displaced in Uganda’s civil war, 1.2 million of which are in the north. Those suffering from malnutrition need nutrient-rich, therapeutic foods to recover. An estimated 50% of the population is reliant on food aid.

Activities

This program creates a long-term solution to nutrient deficiencies by diversifying local crops, while treating existing deficiencies through supplemental feeding.
