More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

In this rural mountain community, each day is a struggle for water needs. The 179 residents must gather water from small springs and waterholes that form close to their houses during the rainy season. During the dry season, these water sources dry up and families must walk long distances to obtain water from larger streams. With no latrines, open defecation is routinely practiced. Children and adults often have diarrhea.

Activities

The project includes construction of a gravity-flow system with water faucets, wash basins, and latrines at each household.

Project Completion Report

By Jessica Brooks - Donor Care Specialist , July 10, 2007 05:40 PM

This project was completed in the fall of 2006. The project was a great success and was finished as planned. Due to the nature of our business, final progress reports from our partner organization in Honduras take months to complete. The final reports are comprehensive from project start to finish and include in depth statistical information. This is unfortunately a lengthy process, and that is why the final project report has not been posted. When the final report is made available to the public, this summary will be replaced with project pictures and final updates. Thanks for your interest in this project and for your support of WaterPartners International. Stay tuned!
