By Chetna Sinha - Founder and Chair of the Mann Deshi Fo, May 25, 2009 11:50 AM
The Mann Deshi Foundation has successfully launched Mann Deshi Tarang, the Mhaswad community local radio station. We inaugurated the station on December 16, 2008. The response to the radio station has been overwhelmingly positive.
The radio station broadcasts programs by involving the local community, which not only takes care of the needs of the community but also provides a platform to the local community to express their artistic talent. Given below are the topics which are covered through such
programs:
o Local information
o Agriculture & related activities such as dairy, poultry etc.
o Use & utility of banks & other financial services.
o Women & Self Help Groups
o Child Education
o Various Government and Non-Government Development programs
o Local Culture & Entertainment.
o Personality Development
o Health & Hygiene
Mann Deshi Tarang also gives opportunity to the local indigenous groups to take the voice of the community to the community - for example, the performers recite poems and poetry written by local saints and poets and perform musical programs, which exhibits to local music and local songs.
Mann Deshi Tarang requests your continued support as programming expands due to increased demand.
Affectionately,
Chetna

Mann Vikas Samajik Sanstha is well on the way to launching Mann Deshi Tarang, the first community radio station in the western state of Maharashtra. Once launched, Mann Deshi Tarang will be an innovative way for the people of Mhaswad to communicate with one another, expand their knowledge into new areas, and creatively express themselves.
We have installed all of our software and technological equipment, building is almost complete, and we have finished nearly all of the editing for our first programs. Mann Vikas would like to thank you for making this possible. We look forward to sharing news about our launch with you.
Below, find our pamphlet which will provide you with more detailed information.
